Cagliari have confirmed that striker Leonardo Pavoletti has ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament for a second time.

The 31-year-old suffered his first ACL injury at the end of August, and was on course to return to the side towards the end of this season.

However the club have announced that Pavoletti has once again ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in the same knee.

It’s unknown at this stage when Pavoletti is expected to return to playing.
