Leonardo Pavoletti could stay at Napoli until January, as he doesn’t want to join Deportivo Alaves.

The striker signed from Genoa in January this year, but injury struggles and the form of Dries Mertens meant he didn’t play a single Serie A game for the Partenopei.

According to Il Mattino, Chievo, Udinese and Bologna are all interested in the 28-year-old, but they can’t afford his €800,000 per season wages.

The other option would be Spanish side Alaves, but Pavoletti isn’t convinced by the move, so that transfer would be difficult to get over the line.

It’s therefore increasingly likely that he’ll stay at the San Paolo until January, even if it’s unlikely he’ll feature very often.
