The Rossoblu sit five points above relegation with two games left and a win against Milan this weekend would guarantee a safety.

Pavoletti has started the last seven games, contributing two goals in the process, and he feels the turning point came with the performance in the 1-0 defeat to Inter.

Since then, Cagliari have picked up 14 points in six games and have climbed out of the relegation zone.

“I believe [the turning point] came with the performance against Inter,” he told Radiolina. “Torino won the night before against Udinese, on a penalty in a bad match.

“In my opinion, we felt bad and we said we were really risking a lot.

“From then, we focused more on having the right attitude and put down the performance and pick up the points.

“We realised that with the attitude, the performances were good, and we clung to that. Then, little by little, with the quality that is in this team and the thought of being close, the wins would arrive sooner or later.

“Winning brings enthusiasm, you claim three wins in a week and you think you are strong.”
