There were worrying scenes for Inter when Benjamin Pavard hobbled off with a knee injury during the Serie A match away to Atalanta.

It was an odd situation, as both Ademola Lookman and Teun Koopmeiners jumped at the same time to reach the Davide Zappacosta cross.

They collided with each other and Pavard, who was in the vicinity, leading his left knee to buckle with the impact.

Medical staff immediately called to the bench to bring on Matteo Darmian as a substitute, leading to fears of a very serious injury.

When he was placed on the stretcher, Pavard insisted on getting back on his feet and walking off the pitch.

More tests will be required to ascertain the extent of the damage, especially ahead of big games coming up, including the Champions League visit to RB Salzburg.

Pavard had a history of injury problems at Bayern Munich and joined Inter over the summer for circa €30m.
