Inter coach Simone Inzaghi may have been dealt a serious blow ahead of their Champions League clash with Barcelona, as Benjamin Pavard limped off just 14 minutes into their Serie A home match against Roma after picking up an ankle injury.
The French defender initially remained on the ground beyond the touchline after jumping and landing awkwardly on his right ankle.

Pavard forced off against Roma as ankle injury worries Inter ahead of Barcelona
He was then treated by Inter’s medical staff and briefly attempted to return to the pitch, but he was clearly limping and even struggled to play the ball when it came his way.
As a result, he went down again and asked to be substituted, telling the staff he didn’t feel stable.

Inzaghi decided to replace him with Yann Bisseck, and while further medical tests will be needed to determine the extent of the injury, the initial signs were not reassuring, as Pavard looked in significant pain and must now be considered a major doubt for the upcoming trip to Barcelona.
Roma took the lead through Matias Soulé shortly after Pavard’s exit.
