Alexandre Pato has committed his entire career to Milan. "I want to be like Paolo Maldini," he said.

Interviewed by the Gazzetta dello Sport following the club's Scudetto success, Pato insisted that he'd be happy to stay at the club for some time to come.

"I don't look at it like Zlatan Ibrahimovic," he said. "I want to stay here and become a flag bearer for this club, like Paolo Maldini. However, to become a symbol of a team you have to win a lot."

Pato has got his hands on silverware this term after scoring the goals that helped Milan wrap up the Scudetto two weeks ago.

"It was an indescribable joy," he added. "I didn't really notice in Rome, but the following day, after reading all of the newspapers, I realised what we had achieved.

"Ronaldinho called me up before the Roma game to wish me luck. This Scudetto also belongs to him."

The campaign hasn't been without its problems for the Brazilian though, who faced time on the treatment table.

"I'm a little annoyed that I didn't play more often. I was injured for the first six months and I only played half the games that I would have wanted to.

"I have to admit that I was starting to get worried, but there are periods when you get injured.

"Yet it helped me to understand that I have to work harder on my muscles to find a balance physically. Now I work hard not to get injured and I'm sure next season will be better."

Having tasted success, the attacker is hungry for even more glory in 2011 and beyond.

"I've won the Scudetto, but I don't want to stop there. There is still the Copa America and the Italian Super Cup.

"Then, next year, I want to concentrate on the Champions League. With the squad that we have we should fear nobody.

"We were unlucky against Tottenham this season, but we have learned our lesson and we won't make the same mistakes again."
