Pato has missed much of the campaign due to a series of thigh problems that baffled medics, but has been declared ‘healed’ in time for the Olympics in London.

“I have been working hard for a month, but effectively since the match with Barcelona on April 3 I have only trained,” the striker told the Corriere dello Sport.

“In any case, I am ready, physically strong and at the disposal of Brazil. The Olympics are my objective after our elimination in the Copa America last summer.”

Pato was one of many who picked up numerous injuries over the course of the campaign at Milan, so the club is taking action.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claims the Rossoneri are hiring American physiotherapist Bill Tillson to act as an athletic trainer.

It is a new role for the fitness staff, aimed at ensuring players are ready to make their comebacks after a period out due to injury.
