Javier Pastore will “very probably” be sold to Chelsea this summer, confirms Palermo Vice-President Guglielmo Miccichè.

Patron Maurizio Zamparini said this week that an overseas club had offered €45m, which is very close to his €50m price-tag, and proposals will be evaluated on Tuesday.

“Chelsea? Very probably, but I think there are many other clubs interested in the lad,” Miccichè told Radio Sportiva.

“We don’t want any players in exchange, as that would be impossible, because we cannot afford their wages.

Roma? They were never really in for the player, which is why they got Erik Lamela instead.”

Although Manchester City, Milan and Inter are also interested in the Argentine international, Chelsea does seem to be the most likely option.

“There are no doubts we have to sell him for various reasons. He wants a big club and there are negotiations at an advanced stage with some very important teams.

“His agent is working well and if someone pays the right price, we are happy to release him. If we don’t reach an agreement, then we’re not exactly upset at keeping hold of Pastore either.”
