Javier Pastore reveals he has ‘not even met’ new Roma coach Jose Mourinho, but is struggling to find a club that will buy him.

The 32-year-old was signed from PSG in 2018 for €24.7m, but never made much of an impact between injuries and poor form.

He was one of several players who were not even included in pre-season training once Mourinho took over from Paulo Fonseca, including Pedro Rodriguez.

“I have not even met Mourinho, the club wants to sell me,” Pastore told Tiempo de Juego.

“They didn’t even allow me to meet with him, nor to train so that I can show the coach if he wants to count on me or not.

“I am training separately with a group of 20 players that Roma want to either sell or send out on loan. We’ll wait to the end of the session and then see what happens.

“I have nothing concrete in terms of offers, it’s very difficult to make transfers stick at this time with economic problems prompted by COVID. Despite the fact I recovered from my injury, I practically never played over the last four months and this made it more difficult to find a buyer.

“I am trying something to get out of the contract, but there’s nothing so far.”
