President Maurizio Zamparini confirmed he had rejected a €50m bid from an undisclosed outfit this season.

“I am very happy here,” said Pastore after signing a new deal with a €60m buy-out clause.

The contract is worth just €0.8m per season to begin with, growing in connection with performance.

The deal gives Palermo security after investing in the 21-year-old talent, but also freedom to sell when the right offer comes along.
