Milan and Napoli have drawn each other in the Champions League quarter-finals, setting up three head-to-head clashes in just 16 days in April.

The Rossoneri tasted glory last season when Stefano Pioli guided them to their first Scudetto in over a decade, but the team have been unable to replicate that form this year, allowing a fresh side to take the top spot in Serie A.

Luciano Spalletti’s Napoli have been nothing short of sensational this campaign and deservedly sit 18 points clear of second place in the league table. The Partenopei are ready to wear the Scudetto on their shirts for the first time since the days of Diego Maradona, snatching it straight from the chests of Milan.

UEFA’s Champions League draw saw Milan and Napoli paired up for the quarter-finals, creating an all-Italian derby on the European stage. With the two teams also set to face each other in Serie A on April 2, they’ll play each other three times in 16 days, giving ample time for both coaches to tweak and tinker with their tactics in an attempt to find an edge.

Milan and Napoli have already met once this season, back in September, when Spalletti’s side secured a 2-1 win in San Siro to kickstart their charge to the Scudetto. The Rossoneri are preparing to relinquish their title as Italian champions, but they can still take revenge on the Partenopei in Europe’s premier club competition.
