The agent of Manuel Pasqual says he has had no contact with Roma or Milan – but he hasn’t spoken to Fiorentina either.

The Italy international has made only two Serie A starts so far this season, and his lack of appearances has led to speculation of a move away from the Viola.

Whilst reports have indicated that Roma could see the 32-year-old as a replacement for Ashley Cole, his agent has offered an update on his situation.

The Italy international has made only two Serie A starts so far this season, and his lack of appearances has led to speculation of a move away from the Viola.

Whilst reports have indicated that Roma could see the 32-year-old as a replacement for Ashley Cole, his agent has offered an update on his situation.

“I read in the newspapers about interest from Milan and Roma,” Gastone Rizzato has commented today to Calciomercato.it.

“The reality is I haven’t had contact with any club. Having not spoken to Fiorentina I don’t know if these clubs made an enquiry directly to them.”

Pasqual’s contract expires at the end of the season, and despite his client’s lack of game time Rizzato insists the defender wants to remain in Florence.

“There’s no hurry. Manuel has over 300 games in Serie A, has won as captain of the Tuscan side and has played for the national team – he shouldn’t have to prove anything.

“He’s a good person, a serious professional and an example for his teammates. His qualities are known by everyone in football, not just those in Florence.

“We said we’d like to talk to the Viola leadership in early 2015 so there’s still time.

“Our intentions are clear – Pasqual likes Fiorentina, and Fiorentina have always like him.

“If things were to change, since we have a  good relationship with the club, based on mutual respect of I’m sure they’ll tell us and then we’ll act accordingly.

“As far as everything else is concerned, as they say ‘it takes two to make a marriage’.”
