“We played for all of us, for Italy, for the Coach and to prove we still have the same hunger and determination as in Euro 2016," said Parolo after the game.

“Giorgio Chiellini is a guarantee for us. These things can happen, but he is too important a player for us. Perhaps the suffering helps to give us character. We worked hard and until conceding we were dominating.
“Israel had been waiting for this game for a long time and are a solid team. We knew it wasn’t going to be easy here.
“Marco Verratti is a spectacle to behold and it’s an honour for me to watch him grow.”
