Marco Parolo felt the energy of the Inter squad under Simone Inzaghi in their 2-1 win over Lazio tonight.

The Nerazzurri took an early lead after 30 minutes thanks to Alessandro Bastoni but Ciro Immobile was quick to respond, drawing things level at half time. In the second half Milan Skriniar found the back of the net to secure all three points for the Nerazzurri.

Speaking with DAZN after Inter’s win over Lazio, Parolo discussed the energy present within the Nerazzurri environment this season.

“In the last 5 minutes you could see the spirit of this team very well, there is a total energy that envelops even those on the bench.

“It seemed impossible that Lazio could score a goal, as far as you could see from the sidelines.”

The former Lazio midfielder then commented on Inzaghi’s decision not to celebrate following the full time whistle.

“It’s right that he left without celebrating after the game. He wanted to win, he won it well and made a nice gesture towards his former fans.”

Inter’s win over Lazio tonight means that they are still top of the Serie A table, despite playing one less game than intercity rivals Milan. The Nerazzurri’s next game is against Juventus in the Supercoppa Italiana final on January 12, before they travel to Bergamo to face Atalanta on January 16.

Inzaghi’s team have only lost one league match so far this campaign, against Lazio back in October.
