Lazio midfielder Marco Parolo admits beating Bayer Leverkusen ‘will not be easy’ in tomorrow’s Champions League play-off.

The Aquile face the German side in the first leg at Stadio Olimpico tomorrow night, and Parolo joined Coach Stefano Pioli for the pre-match Press conference.

“Bayer are tough, they play a quick style of football,” Parolo told journalists.

“They may be worried too though, as it’ll be hard for them too. It will be a battle to the end. It won’t be easy, but the most difficult matches are the most stimulating ones.

“Last season we showed hunger and enthusiasm. It’s the same now, and we want to get into the Champions League, because that’s what all kids dream about when they start playing football.

“We have a lot of lads without much [Champions League] experience, but a lot of us have experience with our national teams.

“We’re ready for the match, we want to show we can compete with a top side.”
