The veteran is one of the most experienced players in the squad and has felt ‘useful’ in the Italian capital, but points out that he has had to ‘change his mentality’.
“We have player of the highest level, in recent years we have scored a lot and we had to grow defensively,” he told Lazio Style Channel. “Now we have leaped in growth, not surprisingly, since we boast the best defence in Serie A.”
“The coach and his staff managed to get the best out of the men at their disposal and the results are clear, the work has been done very well by everyone involved.
“My season has been different from the others, I’m no longer a starter. I had to change my mentality and the way I approach the game, I understood I could be useful to the team in other aspects too.
“I struggled to regulate my physical fitness with the reduced minutes on the pitch. I want to work hard every day and always try to put the coach in difficulties. I’m satisfied. I love this shirt.”
