Udinese’s centre-back Maurizio Domizzi is a transfer target for Serie A rivals Parma, says the player’s agent today.

Domizzi has been with the Zebrette since 2008, whilst his current contract with the club expires in June 2014. However, he could be on the verge of a departure this summer, as the Ducali are pressing for a deal.

“The player is liked by Leonardi, who has followed his time at Udinese closely,” Danilo Caravello told ParmaDaily.it on Thursday.

“The clubs are talking constantly, we are being updated daily. The deal would fall well within the budget for Parma, the player is 31 and his valuation should take this into account.

“I can say that Parma like him and are trying. They have followed him for a little while, but it is still early in talks for negotiations.”

Last season, Domizzi was dropped by Coach Francesco Guidolin for a game due to disciplinary measures, after a reputed training ground bust-up with teammate Pablo Armero.

Alongside news of the defender’s possible departure, Udinese stand on the verge of selling Kwadwo Asamoah and Mauricio Isla to Juventus, whilst reports also indicate that Samir Handanovic is a subject of negotiation for Inter.
