He will reportedly have to decide between joining the Gialloblu or heading to Ligue 1, as Girondins des Bordeaux have also put an offer on the table.

The 27-year-old joined the Berne-based club from Benfica in 2015 for €3m and played 42 times in all competitions this season, including a famous 2-1 win over Juventus in the Champions League.

Benito can also fill in at centre-back and played in that role in the victory over the Bianconeri, but was on the bench as his country lost the UEFA Nations League third-place playoff to England on penalties.
