Parma risk points penalty?

Parma are facing the possibility of a points penalty this season due to late tax payments, which already lost them Europe.

The club was found to have paid its tax contributions late and that was enough to lose their UEFA licence.

It meant the Ducali had qualified for the Europa League preliminary rounds last season, but their spot was handed to Torino instead.

Now the authorities have formally charged Parma with more late payments in November and December 2013.

This sort of approach has already been taken several times in Serie B with clubs in financial difficulty docked one or more points for late payments.

Parma are currently bottom of the Serie A table after five consecutive defeats.
