“We have an important match ahead of us, just like all the matches we play in this League,” D’Aversa said at a Press conference, reports Parma’s official website.

“We’re going to play in a huge stadium against a strong team trained by one of the best Coaches in Europe, so we need to show the conviction and the desire to try and get a result, but this will also be the case for them as well as them being a strong team, so above all we will need this conviction and desire in order to get a good result.

“Straight after the match against Genoa we knew that we would have to work throughout the week to prepare for the match against Inter at San Siro.

“There was a lot of satisfaction with winning at home, but our thoughts immediately turned to the next match.

“Everybody knows what happened during the week but, regardless of the numerical difficulties and the emergencies in some positions, we must try and play with balance, intelligence and with maximum desire to get a positive result from the match.

“Regardless of the absentees, I’m certain that we will take to the pitch with a desire to compete against a strong team.”

The Ducali’s task has been made tougher by injuries to Bruno Alves and recent hat-trick hero Andreas Cornelius…

“Alves and Cornelius had a problem with their flexors; we need to analyse every individual situation because Bruno has had a problem with his heel which he carried forward and it’s very likely that this added to the bad tackle, while [with] Cornelius it’s a case where he was inactive for six months and he’s been playing without a break recently, as well as a knock he received with the national team which we only discovered after his injury because our doctors found a bruise near where he was injured.

“They are different situations. We need to think about the general physical condition of the team, about the fact that there could be injuries and therefore a crisis: we knew early on that the squad was low on numbers and we could face issues with numbers if there were injuries.

“However, there are 11 players ready to start for us and another three ready to come off the bench.”

On the flip side, Parma have in their ranks former Inter winger Karamoh – who has played just 34 minutes of football so far this season.

“Inter are excellent at taking advantage of the width of the pitch and at playing vertical balls to the two forwards who play close to each other and work well together.

“It’s not just a tactical game, we will try to limit their strengths, we need to be mindful of the quality of their players who are very important and organised because they have one of the best Coaches in the world.

“We know the challenge and we have worked throughout the week on counter measures, I’m looking forward to seeing them on the pitch.

“I need to say that both Karamoh and Sprocati would deserve to play thanks to what they’ve shown in recent weeks.

“Karamoh trained well this week, it’s a game where from the emotional aspect, if he played from the start, he could do something important. Being a former player has a big mental impact.

“We need to play well for 95 minutes, they barely give away anything, we need to be excellent in both phases.”
