Parma haven’t won for six matches in the Italian top flight and they were destroyed 5-0 at Inter on Saturday night.
President Tommaso Ghirardi seems intent on shaking things up and Del Neri, who was already paired with the job before Christmas, is a contender.
The former Sampdoria tactician is available after he was sacked by Juventus at the end of the last campaign.
Other options for Ghirardi include ex-Italy tactician Roberto Donadoni, Walter Zenga, Gianfranco Zola and Luigi Apolloni.
Parma were linked with former Inter man Gian Piero Gasperini recently, but he wouldn’t be allowed to take over until the summer having already bossed one club this season.
