Parma director general Pietro Leonardi is hospital after being taken ill.

The club released a statement confirming Leonardi is undergoing tests at the Città di Parma clinic, as he felt unwell late this morning.

A further comment assured tests had proved negative for heart problems, as it seems to be down to "emotional stress."

The 51-year-old had already been in charge of Parma under previous President Tommaso Ghirardi and remained with the club after it was sold to new investors.

He has been working at the Stadio Tardini since June 2009 as director general and then CEO.

The Ducali are bottom of the Serie A table with nine points and were beaten 2-1 at home by Cesena on Sunday.
