Parma have become the third Emilian team in Serie A to announce that their players can resume training next week.

Parma initially said they would not restart until authorities agreed on a health protocol to safeguard staff for the remainder of the coronavirus pandemic.

However, the club confirmed this evening that – like neighbouring Bologna and Sassuolo – players are permitted to use its outdoor training facilities, ‘subject to compliance with health protocol and rules of use developed in collaboration with club doctors’.

It comes after the region of Emilia-Romagna gave its professional sports teams permission to resume activity on May 4, when Italy begins Phase Two of its COVID-19 response.

Other regions in Italy, such as Campania and Lazio, have also opened its doors.
