A heated argument broke out between Leandro Paredes and Massimiliano Allebri during a Juventus open training session on Monday morning.

The Bianconeri trained in front of around 300 fans in the stands of their Continassa training centre on Monday, where some had gathered to watch the team prepare for the Europa League tie against Sporting CP on Thursday.

While players stopped for pictures and signed some autographs, tensions were rising between Paredes and Allegri according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

As per the report, the furious world cup winning midfielder stormed back into the dressing room, a few metres behind his coach, before unloading a few moments later.

In front of a large portion of the Juventus squad, Paredes began confronting Allegri over his lack of playing opportunities since his loan spell in Turin from Paris Saint-Germain began in August.

The Argentine has registered just 1,086 minutes of all of Juve’s games across all competitions this season and has only played 170 minutes since February.

Paredes was also reported to be furious for having fallen down the pecking order in the Juventus midfield, with 21-year-old compatriot Enzo Barrenechea often preferred in Allegri’s starting line-ups.

So hostile was the discussion between on-loan midfielder and the Juventus coach, that Paredes did not stay for the scheduled lunch with the rest of the players, coaching staff and their respective families later that afternoon.

Since being knocked out of the Champions League, Juventus no longer have an obligation to buy Paredes from PSG in the summer for the agreed €20 million price tag.

Gazzetta reports that Juventus would prefer for that money to be invested in Sassuolo’s Davide Frattesi, who is becoming an increasingly popular target at the Allianz Stadium.
