The Old Lady needs three points to keep up with the top four in Italy, but Paratici admitted he has not started planning for life without the Champions League just yet.

“We know the importance of the game, we are in the running, still standing,” Paratici told DAZN. “We play all our chances, as we should.

“We will think about Plan B when the time comes. We will see later.”

Juventus have been linked with Sassuolo midfielder Manuel Locatelli.

“He’s a good player, but he’s from Sassuolo,” Paratici said. “Right now, we are not in the transfer market, the priority is to concentrate on the match. Which is important.”

Paratici then confirmed patron Andrea Agnelli and the FIGC President Gabriele Gravina will talk about the Super League controversy.

“President Gravina has common sense, just like our President, there will be a dialogue,” he said. “The President deals with these issues and has already talked about it.

“There’s no need to dwell on it.”

Buffon starts against Sassuolo tonight but has already confirmed he will leave the Bianconeri after the season.

“He communicated it to us several months ago, and he announced it a few days ago. Beyond thanking him as a club, also personally, because he’s a special person, he’s a special player who has given a lot on a professional and human level.

“I think I have earned a friend for life in these 11 years, equal to those from the childhood. He taught me a lot and gave a lot.

“We managers are often rigid in opening a relationship with the players. But they are true champions.

“I think he was an icon of Italian sport, like Vale Rossi, like Paltrinieri to whom I pay my compliments, Campriani.

“People who take Italy around in an honourable and wonderful way."
