“It’s the first trophy of the season, we received a warm welcome again, as we did in Saudi Arabia last year,” Paratici told RAI Sport.

The trio of Cristiano Ronaldo, Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain are again started together, but Matthijs de Ligt is dropped in favour of Merih Demiral.

“The coach made his decisions, it’s a team that did very well in recent matches, so we hope to continue along this path.”

There was video footage this morning of Mandzukic undergoing a medical with Al-Duhail.

“We’re down to the details, but not completed. Mario is in Qatar, he’s a great person and player, we are glad to have had him with us for four years, now we hope he’ll enjoy this new experience.”

It’s reported Juve will pocket €5m from the transfer, while Mandzukic should earn €7.5m per season for 18 months.
