Tottenham Hotspur aren’t just in talks with Antonio Conte, but want to reunite him with ex-Juventus director Fabio Paratici too.

Multiple sources in Italy including Sky Sport Italia, Gazzetta dello Sport and Goal.com all point to Conte in ‘advanced’ negotiations with Spurs.

He is a free agent after terminating his contract with Inter by mutual consent, despite winning the Serie A title.

Conte isn’t the only Italian who is part of the project at Tottenham, because they are also discussing sweeping powers for Paratici as the chief of the technical area.

Paratici was with Beppe Marotta the director who chose Conte at Juventus in 2011, beginning their nine-year Serie A winning streak.

He then pushed mentor Marotta out in October 2018 and took on even more powers over transfer strategy at Juve.

However, this back-fired with a series of poor decisions, including the dismissal of Max Allegri to bring in Maurizio Sarri and then Andrea Pirlo.

Paratici’s contract with Juventus expires on June 30 and he was not offered a renewal this summer.

Just days after he left, the Bianconeri effectively back-tracked on his choices and brought Allegri back to the bench.

Paratici had also hit the headlines for the wrong reasons in recent months, including the organisation of a controversial language test for potential signing Luis Suarez and his fines for insulting referees during games.

Paratici turns 49 next month and had been at Juventus since 2010, previously working as head of scouting for Sampdoria.

He wouldn’t be the first Italian director at Tottenham, because Franco Baldini worked there from 2013-15.
