The Brazilian has barely featured since coach Stefano Pioli switched to a 4-4-2 formation and he has dropped down the pecking order.

Interest from PSG has been mentioned for months, as current Parisian director Leonardo is the man who brought him to Italy a year ago for €35m.

There were clues something was moving when Paqueta’s agent was spotted at a meeting with Milan directors this week.

On Thursday, his name did not appear in the squad list travelling to Brescia for the Serie A game and he does not appear to be injured.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Sky Sport Italia, Calciomercato.com, Corriere dello Sport and many more, it was Paqueta who asked not to be included in the Milan squad.

The Gazzetta goes so far as to suggest he had a panic attack after last week's win over Udinese.

However, Ricardo Rodriguez is in the team, which is surprising, as he is on the verge of a transfer to Fenerbahce.

That has stalled after the Turkish club was prevented from making new signings due to Financial Fair Play restrictions.
