The Portuguese coach met Real Madrid President Florentino Perez on the same night as Inter's Champions League win at the Stadio Bernabeu.
“My idea was to dismantle the team. It was a winning team, but players were tired and empty. Mourinho knew it and ran away that same night. I will never forgive him for doing so,” Paolillo told Calciomercato.com.
“I was convinced that team should have been dismantled because you can’t win the Champions League and tell media you want a new contract immediately after.”
Paolillo referred to Diego Milito, who had told the media he wanted a contract extension after the award ceremony.
“I thought it would have been great to start from the beginning with a different coach than Rafa Benitez. I had thought about Conte. He remembers that.
“I had talked to him during a game. He had clear ideas, but the real problem was that Moratti didn’t want to bring a Juventino after Mourinho left.”
Conte was sacked by Atalanta in 2010 and gained Serie A promotion with Siena in 2010-11 before becoming Juventus coach in the summer of 2011.
