James Pallotta is reportedly working behind the scenes to restructure Roma's debts, with the formation of a new company.

ANSA report that the 56-year-old is evaluating the idea of creating a newco – a new company which would be controlled by a club – and merging their assets and liabilities as a security for the club’s current debt.

The operation is currently under review, as the club's board of directors remain in discussions with potential creditors, but a conclusion may be reached in the next few months.

At the end of the first fiscal quarter, Roma have found themselves €114.1m in the red and had accumulated debts amounting to €130.8m.

The Giallorossi's financial situation may pose a big problem in the eyes of Financial Fair Play, as they were recently investigated by UEFA for possible breaches of regulations.
