Roma President James Pallotta is “very, very confident” over the new stadium, and hopes to open it in 2019.
The American had a meeting with President of the Lazio region Nicola Zingaretti, and and believes there has been progress toward breaking ground on the Stadio della Roma.
“I want to thank President Zingaretti, as I expected it was a good meeting,” Pallotta told reporters outside the summit.
“Rome as a city and Roma as a team needs something like this. There will be an open and transparent process as we promised.

“We’ll have incredible professionalism and a well-defined roadmap of where we want to go and what we want to do. We’re available for clarification at any time.
“I’m as excited as ever about the possibility of Roma having this stadium, and I hope that in 2019 we can sit together at the opening.
“I want to thank Zingaretti once again, we are very, very confident. We gave all the details which were needed and all the necessary clarifications.”
