Former Roma President Jim Pallotta has been criticising director of sport Monchi again, blaming him for the ‘awful’ Javier Pastore deal.
Pastore was signed from PSG for almost €25m in 2018 and his contract runs to June 2023, worth a reported €3.5m per season.
He has made just 32 competitive appearances for the club, contributing four goals and three assists, but Roma are finding it difficult to sell him.

When this was pointed out by a Giallorossi fan to Pallotta on Twitter, it included the phrase: “Great Monchi deal…”
Pallotta’s reply was: “One of many awful.”
The former owner has repeatedly blamed Monchi for the failure of his project at the Stadio Olimpico.
Now back at Sevilla, Monchi was director of sport at Roma from April 2017 to March 2019.
