“On behalf of AS Roma & myself, I want to apologise to the fans for today's game. Congratulations to Spezia,” wrote the President on the club’s official Twitter account.

It has been widely reported that Roma told Coach Rudi Garcia he has one last chance to turn things around against Genoa in Serie A on Sunday or face the sack.

Options to take over include Marcello Lippi, Luciano Spalletti and Walter Mazzarri.
