Roma President James Pallotta called the mother of murdered Napoli fan Ciro Esposito to apologise for offensive banners.
The Curva Sud was closed for one match and a €12,000 fine applied to the club after banners and chants accusing Antonella Leardi of profiteering from the death of her son last year at the hands of a drunken Roma supporter.

She spoke to TeleVomero and revealed President Pallotta had called her personally.
“He apologised for what happened and said he was incensed. I was pleased with his call, it was a nice gesture.
“We agreed to speak again to sort out common initiatives for the association ‘Ciro Vive.’ He said he’s supportive of what I am doing and wants to meet up for a coffee so we can discuss working together.”
