President James Pallotta says Juventus fear Roma as 'a very serious competitor', and blames some 'bad apples' among the supporters.
The Giallorossi's season started off with a glorious 2-1 win against title rivals Juventus, and Pallotta noted the switch compared to last season's troubles.
“Rudi was said to be guilty by many people, admittedly sometimes by myself too,” he said to Roma's local radios.
“Last season we had a very complicated second half, which became even more difficult by a long string of injuries, several of which depended on the training process.
“We changed and the difference is already visible.
“Against Juve it seemed as though the team could have kept running for another fifteen minutes.
“We dominated against Juventus, and Szczesny's save was the play of the match.
“We have a team that has some real character. Now that our injured players are coming back we're going to have a beatiful season.
“We're building something extraordinary, and we're hoping this victory can be the beginning of something special.”
Pallotta was then asked about Juventus President Andrea Agnelli's statements, who said they'd like to beat Roma in their new stadium as well.
“He knows we're a very serious competitor for them, or he wouldn't say these things.
“As my mother says: if I didn't tell you off, it would mean I didn't love you.
“The supporters? It was frustrating to see the Curva Sud not supporting the team.
“I've never said anything against Roma's supporters, there are only some bad apples that want to impose their decisions on us.”
