Raffaele Palladino is delighted with Moise Kean’s impact at Fiorentina and explains why David De Gea hasn’t started in Serie A yet.

Fiorentina recovered from two goals down in a home Serie A game against Monza on Sunday, collecting a 2-2 draw at the Stadio Franchi.

“The opening 20 minutes were the best ones of the season. We were in control of the game. We conceded from their first chance,” Palladino told DAZN.

Palladino on why De Gea hasn’t started in Serie A for Fiorentina and Kean’s impact

“It could have been heavy to go two goals down, but I saw a group that never wanted to give up. I am convinced that this is a strong team that can do even more. I am sure that we’ll reach excellent results.”

Moise Kean scored in the first half, and he now has three goals in five appearances across all competitions.

“He’s shown great commitment since day one,” said Palladino.

“He runs and helps his teammates. We strongly wanted him, and he’s making himself available.”

During a post-match press conference, the Italian tactician explained why De Gea has yet to start in Serie A.

“There isn’t a hierarchy right now. I wanted to see De Gea and Terracciano to understand,” he said.

“I am happy with both. David hadn’t played for a year, so I preferred Terracciano. We’ll evaluate a few things in the coming days.”
