The Palermo search for a striker continues, turning towards Boca Juniors-owned Las Palmas striker Sergio Araujo.

With Paulo Dybala sold to Juventus for a figure close to €40m including bonuses, the Sicilians have started pre-season training without a suitable replacement.

Jonathan Calleri had been the favourite, but Sky Sport Italia claim those talks have hit stumbling blocks over the last few days.

Instead, they are looking to another player on the Boca Juniors roster – Araujo.

The 23-year-old Argentine spent last season on loan at Las Palmas in Spain, scoring 26 goals in 44 competitive games last season to help their promotion into the Primera Liga.

He’d be available on loan with option to buy for around  €3m.

Araujo has other experience in Spain with Barcelona B.
