Palermo striker Beppe Fella has come up with one of the most memorable goal celebrations of all time, as he scored and then held up a message asking his girlfriend to marry him.
It was Fella’s third goal of the season and he found the net to open the scoring in a Serie C match against Potenza this afternoon.
The 28-year-old went to the touchline to pick up a special shirt he had prepared and hold it up to the cameras and the crowd, as so many players do nowadays.
The difference was the message, which was aimed towards his girlfriend: ‘Will you marry me?’
It also had a drawing of himself kneeling down and holding up a ring.
The official Palermo Instagram account later published the follow-up video, confirming Marisa had accepted the proposal.
The club also replaced the old phrase ‘say it with flowers’ with the updated version, ‘say it with a goal.’
This couple has been together for many years and they already have a child together.
