Palermo have announced they only have 13 players available for this evening’s derby against Catania as they registered six new cases of Covid-19.

“The latest round of swab tests underwent this morning showed a total of seven positive players,” Palermo said in an official statement.

The club had already registered five cases in the last few weeks.

“With Roberto Crivello and Jeremie Broh suspended Palermo will only have 11 players available for this evening’s clash against Catania, plus two goalkeepers of the youth sector aggregated to the group,” the statement reads.

According to PalermoToday, however, the six players who tested ‘mildly positive’ are the same who had recovered from Covid a few days ago.

The club is reported to have requested a postponement of the derby.
