Palermo have taken up their option to sign Stefano Sorrentino from Chievo Verona despite their relegation.
The shot-stopper, 34, moved to the Stadio Barbera in January on loan but he was unable to stop the club dropping into Serie B.

The goalkeeper made 15 appearances for the Rosanero in the top flight, conceding 15 goals in the process.
There is still the possibility that the Stadio Barbera outfit could sell the player on. He’s been linked with Roma and Torino amongst other clubs in recent weeks.
