Palermo are said to be in negotiations with Club Brugge for Costa Rica defender Oscar Duarte.

The 25-year-old centre-back impressed at the 2014 World Cup and has been in Belgium since January 2013.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Palermo director Dario Baccin has already met with Club Brugge representatives last week.

The Sicilians are eager to bring Duarte in for next season, where he’d be reunited with fellow Costa Rica international defender Giancarlo ‘Pipo’ Gonzalez.
