The intermediary representing Tomas Palacios said they had a ‘positive’ meeting with Inter and are ‘confident’ the deal will be done with both Independiente Rivadavia and Talleres.

The situation is rather complicated, because the defender is owned by Talleres, but currently on loan at Independiente Rivadavia.

The latter have an option to buy 50 per cent of his contract in 2024 for €2m, with the other 50 per cent possible in 2025 for the same fee.

With that in mind, representatives of both Argentine clubs were present, Sebastian Peratta and Agustin Vila, along with intermediary Marcelo Simonian and lawyer Luca Peluso at the Inter headquarters this evening.

Palacios representatives ‘positive’ about Inter move

As they left the encounter, Simonian spoke to reporters gathered outside.

“All good, it was a very positive meeting.”

Does he feel confident that Palacios will play for Inter?

“Let’s say it’s looking good, positive.”

The cost of the operation for Inter is expected to be €6.5m plus bonuses that would reach a maximum of €11m.

They are close to a full agreement to bring the left-footed defender to San Siro this season.
