Palacio: ‘Mihajlovic changed Bologna’

Rodrigo Palacio said Sinisa Mihajlovic has “changed our mentality” at Bologna after marking a year of his Stadio Dall’Ara tenure.

The Rossoblu fought back from a penalty to beat Brescia 2-1 this afternoon, even though they dominated the match and Palacio missed two sitters.

“It’s a very important victory and a difficult one, but we played good football and kept the ball to feet,” La Trenza told Sky Sport Italia.

“On my second chance, I was running and Andrea Poli got a touch, so it put me off my stride and I didn’t get it cleanly. On the first opportunity, I should’ve taken it earlier, but the important thing is the win. If I score and Bologna don’t win, it’s all futile.”

Mihajlovic was back on the bench after spending this week in hospital for anti-viral treatment, as he continues his battle with leukaemia.

“We’re a great group and work hard, so the coach is very important to us. We all know what this moment means for him. We are happy to have him as our coach, he changed our mentality when he took over a year ago, while he and his staff have done a great job.

“The team needs to mature a little bit more, but after we went a goal down, we kept playing.”
