Bologna striker Rodrigo Palacio has become the oldest ever player to score a Serie A hat-trick, aged 39 years and 86 days.

La Trenza achieved this record during the 3-3 draw with Fiorentina at the Stadio Dall’Ara this evening.

Palacio is now 39 years and 86 days old, setting a new all-time record for the Italian top flight.

The previous holder was Silvio Piola, who got his treble aged 37 years and 51 days back in 1950.
