Wales manager Rob Page praises Italy as ‘a phenomenal team that showed class’ so far in Euro 2020 but they will still be going for the win at the Olimpico tomorrow.

The final Group A game kicks off on Sunday at 17.00 UK time at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

It represents a head-to-head for top spot in the group, as Italy have six points, whereas Wales managed four thanks to a draw with Switzerland and victory over Turkey.

“Of course you look at the games you’ve got coming into a tournament and think where you can pick points up. To get off to the start that we did against a good Swiss team, showed resilience to get something out of the game was credit to the players,” Page told BBC Sport.

“To then build on that and give the performance we did against Turkey, an exceptional and fully deserved win.”

Italy need just one point to be sure of winning the group and are unbeaten in 29 matches.

“To come into this game it sets us up nicely with four points, there’s no guarantee we’re going to go through, but we’ll have to have a lot of results go against us for us not to.

“We’re in control of what we can do against Italy and like we approached every other game, we’re going for the win,” continued the manager. “If we fall short of the win, we’ll get the point we need.”

The Azzurri swept both Turkey and Switzerland aside 3-0, winning their last 10 matches in a row with clean sheets and scoring 30 goals.

“We fully respect what they’re all about, I think they’re a phenomenal team, they’ve shown class in the first two games, got a lot of goals, so yeah, it’s going to be a good battle.”
