Adam Ounas remains in the balance between a Napoli contract extension and a departure, as he reportedly turned down Atlanta United, Olympiacos, Venezia, Empoli and Monza.

The Algeria international has two loan spells last season, the first six months at Cagliari, then doing far better at Crotone, even if he could not prevent their relegation.

His contract with the Partenopei only runs to the end of this season, so they are trying to sell at €10m.

According to Calciomercato.com, that is proving difficult, because the clubs that were prepared to pay that sum – Atlanta United in MLS, Greek side Olympiacos and Serie B outfit Monza – were rejected by Ounas.

He was also unimpressed with potential loans at Venezia and Empoli, both newly-promoted to Serie A.

Some Napoli fans are eager for him to sign a new contract, having impressed in pre-season under new coach Luciano Spalletti.

However, this too is a problem, as Ounas is asking to double his current €1m per season salary.
