Reports say Inter are interested in Atletico Paranaense’s Otavio, but need to free up a non-EU spot before making a move.

Gazzetta dello Sport writes today that the Nerazzurri have been scouting the 22-year-old for several months and that he has been personally tracked by head scout Massimiliano Mirabello and Coach Roberto Mnacini.

The Brazilian club value the central midfielder at around €10m and he has a deal running until 2019, but a bid of €6-7m plus bonuses could be enough to seal a deal, according to the newspaper.

However, for now nothing can be done as Inter need to free up a non-EU spot in their squad before they can sign Otavio.

The likely candidates to be leaving are Juan Jesus, Yuto Nagatomo or Gary Medel and the sale of one of these players would also help fund a bid.

Several European clubs including Roma are believed to be interested in the Brazilian, who has made seven appearances for Paranaense so far this season.
