The agent representing FC Porto midfielder Otavio insists ‘Inter and Juventus are among the clubs in the fight’ for his signature, with some ‘gathering the necessary €40m.’

The 28-year-old was born and raised in Brazil, but plays his international football for Portugal, amassing three goals in 14 caps for his adopted country.

There were some links with Serie A sides, but most were put off by the €40m asking price, even though his contract with FC Porto only runs to June 2025.

Nonetheless, his agent Israel Oliveira is adamant there is a bidding war breaking out in Italy.

“I can say that there is a great deal of interest around him in Italy and he is strongly wanted there,” the representative told L’Interista.

“We are talking about a player who has already proved what he can do and would be ready for any club. There are those who are gathering the necessary funds to pay the €40m requested by Porto. They definitely want him.”

Otavio’s agent even went so far as to name the clubs who are meant to be in the running.

“I can confirm that Inter are among the clubs who want him. I think Juventus will also join the race to have Otavio. I want to be clear that the player is not for sale, so either the release clause is paid or he remains at Porto.”

Despite the representative’s confidence, there are no real reports in Italy suggesting Otavio is a main target for anyone, including Inter and Juventus.
