Napoli have one new defender, because Leo Ostigard has already passed his medical and will complete the €5m plus add-ons move from Brighton and Hove Albion tomorrow.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the deal is done for the centre-back and he has already undergone his medical tests in the Villa Stuart clinic in Rome.

He will put pen to paper on the contract tomorrow, as Brighton have already exchanged the paperwork with Napoli.

The transfer is believed to be worth €5m plus a further €3m in bonuses and a percentage of the sell-on fee.

Ostigard is no stranger to Serie A, as he spent the last six months on loan at Genoa, but was unable to prevent their relegation.

The Norwegian is expected at Napoli’s Dimaro training ground on Sunday.

This transfer was planned before Kalidou Koulibaly was sold to Chelsea for €40m, so the Partenopei still need a replacement for the Senegal international.

Their first choice is South Korean Kim Min-jae of Fenerbahce, but face competition from Rennes for the €20m talent, while another option is PSG defender Abdou Diallo.
