Leo Ostigard has completed his transfer from Brighton and Hove Albion to Napoli. ‘It’s a dream come true,’ said the defender.

Curiously, he already held his presentation press conference at the Dimaro pre-season training centre, several hours before the formal announcement of his move.

It is believed to be worth €5m plus up to another €3m in add-ons.

“I only wanted Napoli for some time. I played at Genoa last season and already got to know Serie A. It’s a dream come true for me to play for a club like Napoli,” said the 22-year-old Norway international.

“Fabio Cannavaro is my idol. I was also really impressed when playing at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, by the fans and the way they said goodbye to Lorenzo Insigne. I can’t wait to play there for the home team.”

Kalidou Koulibaly was sold to Chelsea for €40m including bonuses, although Ostigard’s move had already been planned regardless of the Senegal international’s situation.

“Koulibaly is an incredible defender. I am not here to be his replacement, but simply to be myself and give my all.”
